Photo Monday: Rush!

During my study of the Flinders Street Station, one of the tasks I took was to observe how the station is used at different times of the day. At times, crowds are sparse and calm prevails. When travelling on foot becomes routine, our minds take over. We run on autopilot.

As I stand at a corner, a sudden rush begins and mindless drones walk pass me, sometimes right at me. The quiet of the station is shattered by drones of people rushing to enter it!

Mindlessly, they make their way through, silently racing towards the platform. Autopilot makes movement routine and the experience of space blurs into the subconcious. On and on they walk.

Powerless they have become, pausing only to obey the instructions of a little green man trapped within a black box.
